During the past several weeks the whole world has gone crazy about playing a new terrific game Pokémon Go created by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company and Niantic, companies involved in the development of software. The app has saved its creators at the edge of bankruptcy.

It reached the level of 10 million downloads on Google Play during the first week after its release on July 16, 2016. Pokémon Go is a multi-payer role videogame of augmented reality. Its aim is finding, capturing and training Pokémons.

The weird virtual creatures first appeared in Nintendo games in 1990s and became heroes of manga, anime, collection card games, etc. Cards with the image of your own “pocket monster” were hits of children platforms before Minecraft and even Tamagotchi. In total there are seven generations of the game starting from Pokémon Red and Green released in 1996.

The peculiar feature of Pokémon Go is overstriking of virtual images with images of the real world. The game is able to make the laziest couch potatoes leave their homes, travel around the place they live searching for and renewing or creating Pokémons. The app also allows communicating with other players while you are in the process of working at your own Pokémon collection.

Common problems of the nowadays world such as low physical activity among young people and lack of socialization in the reality seems to have been overcome due to this free-to-play game. The need to stand up from your chair in front of the computer screen and to move at least about the town changes the gamers’ lives upside down. To compete with other player and succeed in Pokémon Go, you have to walk a lot since the most powerful and unique Pokémons are created in this single way. Besides you can gather teams in the virtual world and make new friends in the real one.

Day by day a great amount of the news headlines are dedicated to various things happening to the game players starting from the world record of the number of rare Pokémons collected to car accidents caused by pedestrians or drivers totally involved in Pokémon Go. Niantic has not expected the enormous popularity of the game, so its servers are overloaded sometimes. The company announces there will not be any updates in the several few weeks unless they replace the existing servers with more powerful ones.

Nevertheless, all the above mentioned facts do not influence the increase of the game popularity. Both iOS and Android device owners continue to compete in the app so successfully combining both real and virtual.
